The Komatsu PC390 excavator is equipped with the Komatsu SAA6D114E-3 engine, with a rated power of 187 kW (254 horsepower), a displacement of 8.27 liters, and adopts high-pressure common rail fuel injection technology, turbocharging and intercooling technologies. The engine and hydraulic system are optimally matched, and at the rated speed of 1950 rpm, it can output strong power. The power reserve is sufficient, and it can still maintain stable output under heavy-load mining conditions. Its adaptability to high altitudes is also excellent.
1.Fuel Economy
Thanks to technologies such as the CLSS closed-center load sensing hydraulic system and the intelligent power management system, the fuel consumption has been reduced by approximately 8-10% compared to the previous model. Under standard operating conditions, the overall fuel consumption performance is excellent. Some users have reported that the hourly fuel consumption is 3-5 liters lower than that of competing products in the same category, resulting in significant savings on long-term fuel costs.
2. Excavation Force Performance
The bucket excavation force is 277.75 kN (approximately 27,775 kgf), and the dipper excavation force is 197.6 kN (approximately 19,760 kgf). This level of excavation force is considered medium to upper-level in 39-ton class excavators. The standard configuration includes a 1.9-2.1 m³ high-efficiency rock bucket, which allows for large single-bucket excavation volume. Combined with an optimized hydraulic system, the operational efficiency is balanced in scenarios such as earthwork and mining.
3. Hydraulic System
It adopts the CLSS closed-center load-sensing hydraulic system. The maximum flow rate of the main pump is approximately 450L/min. The coordination of the compound actions is good, and the precision of micro-operation is relatively high. The rotation speed is about 10.5 rpm. The walking speed can be adjusted in three gears (4.3/3.5/2.5 km/h). The operation cycle time is reasonable, and the overall operation efficiency is competitive in the same category.
