The Komatsu PC270 series is equipped with the SAA6D series engine independently developed by Komatsu. It adopts advanced technologies such as high-pressure common rail fuel injection and turbocharging. It has ample power reserves and responds promptly under heavy-load conditions. It performs well in adapting to high-altitude environments. The engine is optimally matched with the hydraulic system, ensuring stable power output and enabling it to easily handle demanding conditions such as mining and earthwork.
1.Fuel Economy
By utilizing technologies such as the intelligent power management system and the load-sensitive hydraulic system, the fuel consumption has been reduced by approximately 8-10% compared to the previous model. Under standard operating conditions, the overall fuel consumption performance is outstanding. Some users have reported that the hourly fuel consumption is 3-5 liters lower than that of competing products in the same category, resulting in significant savings on fuel costs over the long term.
2. Operating Performance
The digging force of the bucket is 198 kN (for PC270-8, it is 20,200 kgf), and the digging force of the boom is 138 - 148 kN. It falls within the medium to upper range in terms of performance among 27-ton class excavators. The standard bucket size is 1.30 - 1.50 m³, with a moderate digging capacity per bucket. Combined with the optimized hydraulic system, it performs evenly in tasks such as earthwork and mining.
3. Hydraulic System
A load-sensing hydraulic system is adopted. The flow rate of the main pump is approximately 450L/min (PC270-7). The coordination of the combined actions is good, and the precision of micro-operation is relatively high. The rotation speed is approximately 10.5-11.5 rpm, and the walking speed is 5.5/4.1/3.1 km/h (three speeds). The operation cycle time is reasonable, and the overall operation efficiency is competitive in the same category. Some users have reported that the speed on flat ground has increased by more than 10% compared to the previous generation in digging operations.
4. Work efficiency data
Under standard earthwork operation conditions, an average of 15-18 truck loads can be completed per hour (calculated based on 6-cubic-meter trucks), representing an efficiency improvement of approximately 10-14% compared to some similar models in the same category.
