The Komatsu PC215 excavator is equipped with the Komatsu SAA6D107E-1 engine (approximately 123 kW/166 horsepower), which adopts electronic control high-pressure common rail technology. It is combined with the Komatsu CLSS hydraulic system and the ECO mode, enabling automatic adjustment of power output according to the load. Among 21-ton class excavators, it has a relatively good fuel economy performance. Compared with some models in the same class, its comprehensive fuel consumption is relatively lower, and the operating cost is well controlled.
1. Work efficiency
The bucket's digging force is approximately 149 kN. When paired with a standard bucket size of 1.0 - 1.2 cubic meters, the single bucket's excavation volume is moderate. The hydraulic system employs load-sensing technology, with sufficient main pump flow, good coordination of compound actions, and high precision in micro-operation. Under conditions such as earthwork projects, construction sites, and municipal engineering, the operation cycle time is reasonable, and the work efficiency is balanced. Standard auxiliary hydraulic pipelines are provided, allowing for quick switching between hydraulic hammers, hydraulic shears, and other auxiliary machinery, making it highly versatile.
2. Structural Reliability
The key structural components (boom, bucket arm, chassis) are made of high-strength steel, and the critical parts have undergone strengthening treatment. The X-shaped box-section chassis design has strong torsional resistance, and the structure of the crawler support wheel frame has been optimized. The key hydraulic components adopt mature and compatible products, and the overall reliability meets the operation requirements of medium-sized excavators. Under general engineering operation conditions, the durability performance is stable.
3. Advantages in operational comfort and safety
The cab is designed with ergonomics in mind, providing relatively spacious interior. Standard features include air conditioning and shock-absorbing seats for comfort. The control levers are of pilot-operated type, offering relatively light operation force, resulting in lower fatigue during long-term operations. The field of vision is relatively wide, with a standard rearview camera (optional in some configurations) for better safety during operations. The cab has passed the anti-fall object certification and has a relatively high level of safety protection.
4. Maintenance Convenience
The daily maintenance points are centrally arranged, and most can be inspected while standing on the ground, resulting in good maintenance convenience. Some configurations adopt electronic monitoring systems, enabling real-time monitoring of equipment status. The Komatsu after-sales service network covers a relatively wide area, and spare parts are relatively abundant. Compared with imported brands of the same level, the long-term usage cost is competitive among similar products.
